Perfection is a bit of everything in balance. Everyone on the planet is unique. Over 7 billion people all different. To be unique is to be perfect because perfect is based on perspective.

What I think is perfect, you may not. But no one can copy you in entirety. Even if they cloned you and your clone stood next to you, you would still be unique because your clone cannot occupy the same exact space as you. One of you may be on the left, the other, on the right.

One difference is all that is needed to make you unique. Everyone and everything on this planet is perfect. Please go into this new year believing it. Keep it up, and thanks for the comment!

It does not exist. Human beings, by our very nature, are fallible. When perfection is your goal, you are always left with a nagging sense of failure that makes you want to give up or reduce your effort. You end up spending your time lamenting what you failed to accomplish and what you should have done differently instead of moving forward excited about what you have achieved and what you will accomplish in the future. You miss out on connecting on a deeper level with friends when your head is swirling with a never-ending to-do list. It is okay to step back and tell others that no, you do not have time to add that to your plate. Learn that managing your time will help you know when to stop working and focus on your home life instead.

You would have given them a poor version of you. When you give your full attention to each activity, you learn to appreciate them more. Power of Positivity uses cookies to give you the most relevant experience.

It does not store any personal data. I looked down past my yellow jersey and thought about it. I no longer wonder if my resistance to pursuing perfection is a character deficit. Acknowledging that perfect is the enemy of good creates permission for continual evaluation and modification of ourselves and the things that we do. One type of improvement is accepting things and setting an intention of moving forward without fighting absolutes.
